India's farmers have never lacked quality. What they have lacked is a way to reach the world. Across the country, thousands of farmer groups, cooperatives and associations grow exceptional produce, yet most work alone, with little bargaining power and no direct line to global buyers.

We are uniting unorganized farmer associations from different parts of India under one platform. By bringing their produce together and presenting it to the world as one, we give them the scale and the united stand they need to sell in the global market, at a fair price and on their own terms.

India has about 146 million farm holdings. Most have no path to the global market.

India has one of the largest farming populations in the world, and roughly 86% of its farms are small or marginal. The average farm is little more than one hectare, too small to export on its own.

That is the gap we fill. We stand with FPOs and farmer groups so their produce can reach buyers worldwide.

To give farmers strength in numbers, the Government of India set out to form 10,000 new FPOs, and the target has now been reached. Yet the FPOs formed under the scheme have around 2 million farmer members, a small fraction of the whole. Many FPOs still lack affordable credit, reliable logistics and direct access to international buyers.

What is psyllium husk?

Psyllium husk, also called isabgol, is the outer coating of the seed of Plantago ovata, a plant grown mainly in India. After the seeds are cleaned and milled, the husk is separated, graded and packed.

In water, the husk swells and forms a gel. That makes it useful as a source of soluble dietary fiber and as a thickener and binder, so supplement, food, bakery, beverage and pharmaceutical makers all use it.

Purity
The share of pure husk in the product. The rest is mostly fine seed fragments and other extraneous matter. A 99% husk is purer than a 95% one.
Whiteness
The color of the husk. Super White is lighter and has fewer dark specks than Regular or Average White. It does not change the purity.

    India's largest grower, with roughly 360,000 hectares under psyllium (2021-22). Barmer and Jalore are among its main districts.

    Second-largest grower, with about 31,000 hectares in 2024. Also India's processing and trading hub, with Unjha its largest isabgol market.

Questions buyers ask

What is psyllium husk?

Psyllium husk, also called isabgol, is the outer coating of the seed of the Plantago ovata plant, grown mainly in India. It swells in water and forms a gel, which is why it is used as a source of soluble dietary fiber and as a thickener or binder in food, supplements and pharmaceutical products.

What does purity mean, for example 95%, 98% or 99%?

Purity is the share of pure husk in the product. The remainder is mostly fine seed fragments and other extraneous matter. A higher number means a cleaner, more concentrated husk.

What does Super White mean?

It describes color, not purity. Super White husk is lighter and has fewer dark specks than Regular or Average White. That matters where the appearance shows, such as drink mixes, gluten-free baking and premium supplements.

Which grade should I choose?

Start with your application. Pharmaceutical and capsule products usually look to the 99% grades, food and bakery products use 95% or 98%, and products where appearance matters use Super White. Try our grade finder, read the buyer guide, or ask us and we will help you decide.

Do you supply organic and conventional psyllium husk?

What is the minimum order?

The minimum order is 1 MT (metric tonne).

Which documents come with a shipment?

That depends on your destination country and on whether the product is organic or conventional. Typical documents include a commercial invoice, packing list, bill of lading, certificate of origin and COA, and organic shipments need organic certification documents.
